somehow you come to a point in life, you wonder what you're living for. you forget what was your drive in life. who carried you through the darkest moments of life. because we get familiar. so familiar with God. so familiar that everything we do becomes a routine. picture this. hearing this message. " he died, so that you might live." if it was any ordinary day, would you remember it? would you remember it in the midst of your stress filled life. no. cos one would be too farmiliar with that sentence. too farmiliar that God did that for us. too farmiliar that it doesnt registar that God paid the ultimate price for our sins.
we say grace, cos we have to. we pray, because we have to. we go to church, cos we have to. we read the bible, cos we have to. we help somebody, because we have to.
its no wonder people get sick and tired of doing all of the above, because it becomes ones routine, because they do it cos they have to. does anybody realise the love and passion we are supposed to have? if we dont have Love and the heart for doing all that i listed, it'll just be a chore. and when that time comes, be it any day, we'll soon stop bothering. cos we never really bothered to in the beggining.
i guess i sound crazy repeating everything i just said. but my point is, the devil trys to dystroy and relationship, and every relationship that we have with God. the reason why youth groups crack's cos we get farmiliar with the routines. we get familiar with the people. we dont bother to mix with new friends. pastor chris said that. the reason why people stop reading their bibles, cos they are familiar with the feeling of boredom and think that its boring. therefore, they dont give the bible a second chance. such a pity.
